What the Snohomish County Jail Roster Shows

Under RCW 70.48.100, the Snohomish County Jail must keep a jail register open to the public. The register logs the name, the booking date, the charges, the bail or bond data, and the arresting agency. This data is available without a formal records request. It is on the jail register website already.

The Snohomish County jail roster goes a step further than many counties. It pulls in data from the Lynnwood and Marysville municipal jails too. This means one search covers three facilities. If you have questions about a person housed in the Lynnwood or Marysville jail, you need to contact those facilities directly for details beyond what the register shows. The county site links to both.

The jail register uses abbreviations for agencies and charges. An abbreviation legend is posted on the jail register website. Check the legend if a code does not make sense at first glance.

For records that go beyond the public Snohomish County jail roster, file a request through the Requesting Jail Records page. You can submit a request by mail, in person, online, by email, or by fax at 425-388-3939. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office Records Division processes these requests under RCW 42.56.

Fees for paper copies run $0.15 per page plus postage. Scanned copies cost $0.10 per page. Electronic files cost $0.05 each per every four files. CDs are $1.50, DVDs are $1.60, and USB drives are $7.00 each. Payment is by cash, check, or money order only. Checks go to "Snohomish County Sheriff's Office" or "SCSO." The county waives fees for production under $1. You can also inspect records in person at the sheriff's office at no cost by appointment.

Medical records are separate. The release of jail medical records needs a signed authorization form from the inmate. No medical data goes out without that form or a court order. Fax the form to 425-388-3526 or mail it to the Corrections Bureau at 3000 Rockefeller Ave., M/S 509, Everett, WA 98201.

Family and friends must register online with a valid email, a valid ID, a mailing address, a phone number, and a clear selfie photo along with the front and back of a state-issued ID. Without the photos, the registration will not be approved.

Once approved, you can schedule video visits, send text messages, and share photos through the online system. All visits last up to 30 minutes. There are also three video visit kiosks in the jail cashier lobby for people who want to come in person. The lobby is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Coming to the jail for a kiosk visit is free, but you still need an account with the inmate communications vendor.

It is the inmate's job to tell visitors when they are free to visit. Jail staff will not share this info with the public. Each housing unit has a different schedule, and it can change for security reasons without warning.
